Legacy Russell utilizes glitch art to create a strong statement about ‘Glitch Feminism’. Glitches, generally deemed a malfunction or defect, are a type of ‘foreplay’ for the viewer or user. It suspends activity, causing anticipation.

It is not necessarily the negative thing society would have us think and instead makes a political statement about feminism. Glitch feminism is not for just any one gender. It is a way for female identified bodies to make a statement against the structured, patriarchal society. Russell sees glitch as a way to break away from the norm of what society has decided and uses it as a kind of transformation. Glitch art, she explains, should not be categorized as ‘sub’-anything. Russell, glitch art is a way to say ‘fuck the system!’
